Gauge Dimmer?

I have the headlamp switch wired into a 12volt circuit right now, should that get wired into the dash light circuit so the gauge can dim with the dash lights?

Thanks

Re: Gauge Dimmer?

Please excuse my poor english, but I'm not sure to understand what I have to do if I want my gauge to adapt to night or day conditions...

DIM: This trimmer works in conjunction with the head lamp switch. When it sees a 12V signal, the trimmer becomes active. This coincides with night drive conditions. The high- intensity led used on the dash gauge is too bright for night motoring. so wiring in the “purple wire” from the 4-way power plug to the head lamp switch is essential. Do not wire it to the car’s interior dimming circuit or unexpected results may occur.

Does it mean that I have to connect the purple wire to the black one of the gauge harness?

well, I now understand that i have to connect the purple wire to the 12V of the headlight switch.

Does it work with the blue dimming wire of the stereo (if I connect it to the purple wire)?

Re: Gauge Dimmer?

The 12V has to be a solid, dimmer circuit will not work.
