Aquamist 2s solenoid and FIA2

Will the FIA2 drive the solenoid on the Aquamist 2s manifold correctly?

Good question, but I think it could.

The modulating valve of the 2s will not operate at a high enough frequency. The 2s valve opereates rather slow. The FIA2 will drive at the same rate as the fuel injector, too fast for modulating of 2s.

Thanks Folks, I'll order a (806 244) High speed stainless inline valve: 4mm qck-fit 12v. Is there anything else I will need to be able to connect the HSV?
Thanks,
Giles

Brad,
Do you know the solenoid specs for the inline valve in the 2S system? It is possible that I may be able to drive that directly from my EMS and gain the control that I need without the need for the HSV.

Solenoid respond time
on 4.5ms
off 2.3ms
It is slow. On my data logger you can see the cycles of off and on. A high speed valve will work just like a fuel injector. Except for the expense of the high speed valve it is the best route to be driven with an EM system.

Do you know the operating frequency of the solenoid?

Given the above response times the maximum operating frequency is 150Hz. Brad, if you can measure the frequency the MF2 uses from your logs that would be great.

In the Fuel Injection sectio of the MF2 documentation I found the following:

Injection Pulse Duration:
Fuel = 12ms (typ.)
Water = 35ms (type.)

Injection Width: 5% to 90%

The above data equates to an operating frequency of:
Fuel = 83 Hz
Water = 29 Hz

so, anyone wishing to drive the manifold (#806-200) solenoid (#806-218) from an EMS should set the pulse width to 35ms or operating frequency to 29Hz. 2-way inline valve (#806-234) should be the same.

From Richard Lamb @ ERL (Aquamist):

'The valve can be driven with a maximum frequency of approximately 30Hz, 12V supply. The drive signal can be pulse width modulated.'
