It is not an easy question to answer.
I have experienced in the past that when charge temperature exceed 100C on a tuned/modified engine, it induces detonation.
The safe way to tackle this by putting a fast response charge temperature sensor along the inlet track to active a timigmn retard or spray more water.
It is a very complex question to answer accurately.
