From what I've heard, the coating comes off on it's own anyway and is only to quiet the sound down and storage before it's shipped out. Coating loss is a natural part of the roots blower's lifespan and doesn't affect boost in any noticable way from what I've heard. A guy who was running 10-11 psi through his on a k series honda motor was seeing perfectly normal boost levels and making great power -- his charger had a large quantity of the coating gone from using nitrous and normal wear and tear and it still operated normally. He would not have known unless he went looking at the blades during a tear down after blowing the motor on the dyno.
