Hello, I have a 2011 STi and I am installing an an Aquamist system.
Everything is hooked up but I still have some mods to finish before I can run the car. I am in Mexico City and I don't have a tuner available that knows the system so I will have to make adjustments myself which brings me to my question. How do I know if I need more or less IDC?? What things do I need to look out for? |

Since system flow is based on fuel flow, tuning is relatively simple.
A good starting point is to decide the jets size relative to fuel injector size. This sets the actual ratio between fuel flow and water/methanol flow. A useful guide line: 1) Work out the total fuel injector capacity 2) Decide on the ratio of water/methanol mix 3) 100% water ...... 10-15% to fuel ratio. or 4) M50/W50 ....... 15-20% to fuel ratio. or 5) 100% methanol ....... 20-25% to fuel ratio. 6) Calculate water/methanol flowrate based on above fuel ratio above 7) Pick the jet or jets sizes to match. 8) Allow 10-20% extra capacity on top of the raw jet flow figures from the user manual. Once this is done, just use the timmers to increase or decrease the water/methanol flow based on the tune, mild to wild. Of course ambient temperature and fuel quality should also be considered.
