99 Octane pump gas
For our UK viewers, Tescos is now selling 99 octane super unleaded fuel at most of its larger stores . Extra good news is it seems to be a good deal cheaper than the competition, and is a genuine 99 RON fuel.
I'm nothing to do with the petrol industry/tescos, but this has to be good news for us with detonation problems agrovated by low octane fuels. A few of the tricks discussed elsewhere in this forum and you have 100+ fuels for not a lot of dosh. Link to manufactures data here:  http://www.greenergy.com/products/99_octane.html |

They don't specify which Sunoco fuel there used, but it ranges from ?80 for 25 litres to ?280 for 25 litres, depending on which you go for. I have been looking into this considerably and you cuold make a similar mix to thier 106 octane fuel with oxygenators by mixing Super unleaded with 25% Toluene and 5% Methanol. This gives 106 RON (Based on 99 octane Tesco fuel as a starter), 96.2 MON and 4.4% oxygen. It would cost subtantially less making this yourself. You can also add a small amount of diesel for cleaning properties and a small amount of ATF for lubrication, but neither of these are really needed if only used occasionally.
