Default Water only affects on o2 sensor readings

Hi out there.

I've read up as much as I could on mixes vs tuning. The general emphasis on the fact that tuning via the o2 sensor is possible provided you take into account the change in readings beacuse of the oxegen content added by the alcohol in the mix.

Is the o2 reading altered by water only injection?

Thanks,

Chay Foss

Default My experiance

I am injecting 20% water/methanol to fuel with 1/3 methanol and 2/3 water - to avoid freezing in NE this is about the lowest level of Methanol I dare use.

My wide band O2 readings drop about 2 points - 13:1 to 11:1 when the water kits in.

I highly recommend the 2D system it works great.

Default

But isn't this happening because the mixture actually gets richer, because of the alcohol content?

I mean because you inject an amount of methanol (fuel) the mixture goes from 13:1 to 11:1 and it is not a sensor "fault".

Am I missing something?
