There is a multicore cable that goes to the MAF sensor on the Astra:
1) 0V
2) +5V
3) +12V
4) MAF OUTPUT (0-5V)

The converter splice ionto the cut MAF cable. We also use the +12V and 0V for powering the converter.

Quite simple.
