The pump can prime as much as 6 feet provided the line is filled with water. If thereare no water in the line you may need to help it a bit with gravity feed.
This condition should not exist since the HFS-6 will stop the system from injecting if the water leverl is below the level sensor. The pump is zinc plated, it is a sacrificial coating, in time, it will wear away and start to rust.
