First of all, can you examine the colour wires are crimped in the correct order on the grey harness.

I just had some general questions about the HFS-4.

Specs: 2008 Evo X GSR

-ETS 6266 CEA BB Kit
-Dual Tial 38mm WG
-4" FMIC
-4" MAF intake
-Full Race Head/Block +.040
-DP, exhaust, etc.
-ID 2000's
-Double Pumper 2x 340's

HP goals: 650-800 daily


1. Do you have experience working on the Evo X?
2. Do you have install instructions for this car?
3. With the specs provided do you have any recommendations or other parts that could be required.

I appreciate your help!

1. I have some experience of the Evo X on the electrical side.
2. I am working on them for the h4. You can always reference the HFS-3 section. iT will be similar.
3. can you tell me what ECU, injector specifications (impedance & flow) and boost control - I can produce a specific wiring diagram foir it.

4. Question... does this car have a map sensor?

we got everything sorted out and the numbers look good very fun car to drive

failsafes work great and IAT never got above 28C even after ten back to back pulls on the dyno. The system rocks!

i have one last question I am currently running 2 x 1.0mm nozzles and a .9 restrictor. How much will flow increase if I go with no restrictor? and would I need a retune at that point?

I wouldn't use the restrictors if you are running two 1mm jets. The restrictor just improves the linearity of the system. At those rate, it is not as important. It is much much imnportant when you are using one 0.8mm or smaller.

The difference in flow will be warrant a retune.

The reason behind the restrictor is to match the flow characteristics of the valve's inlet to the jets. It is liken to control the flow out of a small hole on a large water tap.

I don't mind questions if you it helps you to make better use of the system.

Hi Richard,

I was just reading your last reply.

If I am using 1 x 1.2mm jet, should I be using any of the flow restrictors?
My calculated WMI flow should be around 570cc.

Going by page 9 of the manual, I put the 0.7mm restrictor in to cover flows of 0 - 680cc. Would this be correct?

I would use the 0.7mm reastrictor, as suggested by you. If you don't use the restrictor, youwilkget a bit more flow at the mid-range. There are times when it is advantages to have this flow curve.


Please allow a bit more. The 1.2mm @~650cc/min seemed to be a good choice. Will you be running more power the future?

Not any more power then what I will have after the install of the HFS-4 and subsequent dyno tune + 25psi. Unlikely anyway.

Before WMI, I was tuned on 21.5psi producing roughly 480hp.

I am assuming that after the addition of WMI and 25psi, I will be at the limits of my setup and don't plan on pushing it any further.

So based on all this, 1.2mm should be sufficient with a 0.7 restrictor based on the above?
