look at this in relative terms of hp per cylinder, 500-HP V8 (62.5/HP per cylinder) versus 500-HP ST4 (125/HP per cylinder), represent a huge thermal loading difference since power equates essentially to heat/calorie units....simple terms as stated before power is heat and heat is power but to the limiting factor of what individual components can withstand and the cooling system ability to shed/offset xxx amount of heat waste in a given amount of time.

Thread dig but would adding lots of methanol mean a rich afr is needed? Also with the comment of more methanol is more heat, has that anything to do with how hot methanol is when lean? Or its oxygen value? Cheers
