Can you measure and confirm the actual hole size of the gauge pod is 60mm What colour would you like the adaptor to be?

Hole size is ~60.5mm...my analog calipers showed it between 60 and 61mm. It's the pod the Defi uses. I measured the actual gauge and that is 60mm and there is some foam to keep it snug with the pod.

With the adapter I can go back to 52mm if my setup changes later on right? I would like the adapter to be black please.

Thanks Richard!

The GB for the HFS-3 is the lowest you will see the system priced, even bundled with a tank unit in the future. If you want the 3, I would recommend getting it now.

Since we will be distributing the GB in the US, we will offer discounts on standard tanks/parts to be shipped with the GB kits. Please contact us directly for specifics for your application. Thanks.

P.S. If you are not in the States we will still try to take care of you. Contact us and let us know what you are looking for.

I am planning to ship all the Australian order via Jeff Howertion, have been talking to Jeff yesterday and he is looking into getting the most econmical way to do it. So far, USPS is most reasonable compared to UPs/Fedex etc. He has also asked me to reducing the standard HFS-3 packaging so it can be fitted into a smaller standard fixed price pack.

We have been working on that already.

I am very pleased that the GB reached 20. This is the one time we can deal direct with the end user. It benefits us greatly to recover some development and production setup cost.

We have more or less completed the entire range HFS-xx, plug and play range. I cannot see another GB opportunity in the next 12-16 months. I am working on the wirelss CAN buss system for 2020.

pat ziad is in melbourne shane and myself are in sydney, not sure about the rest remember if you bundle to save on postage you're more likely to go sea instead of air and then also get slugged with the 10% GST for going over $1000AUS of GST freee goodies- cop the postage in the backside champ and save on the GST is my suggestion and 2 cents worth.....

I think for the Aussie and USA orders, poeple can easily add a tank since Jeff will be shipping them out. As soon as Jeff gets better, he will take care of this by adda link to a new thread on this forum.

I am very pleased that we have a very respectable response to the GB.

I think Burnzy has a point, if the kits are bundled, it will attract GST, offsetting the shipping saving.

Richard that was justincase not burnsy who replied.

and i tend to agree. also werent u saying that Jeff might be able to put them in smaller boxes to post out. so if it was two units the postage would be increased. plus the chance of duty+gst will make it more expensive.

I will do my best to squeeze the HFS3 into a smaller box, making more room for the pump and tank. Every little helps.

For people in California,
Are we going to have to pay sales taxes, since Howerton Engr is partially managing the GB?

I hope we don't as that would drive the price beyond what my budget allows.

Howerton Engineering
26-01-2010, 06:22 PM
CA will not have to pay sales tax on the kits. The kits are being invoiced from the UK, we are just the CC processor for the kits. You will have to pay sales tax on any additional items(tanks and such) you purchase if you reside in CA. These additional items will be invoiced and charged separately.

Jeff is monitoring the thread daily.

You will receive a pm soon after the GB closure, there will be a question on "howerton tank", just answer "yes"

When will you be collecting payment and when will shipping beggin?

Richard L
01-02-2010, 04:59 PM
In a next day for two, a pm will be sent out to all GB participants, requesting contact, addresses etc details and paypal payment of $100.00 (deposit). Upon recieving a reply and paypal payment, the name will be forwarded to Jeff Howerton. Shipping will commence from mid February in the order of the GB list.

Can I make a small recommendation... Perhaps those who respond earliest with a deposit/full payment should be given priority? I think this would be best for ALL parties involved (customers, Aquamist, and Howerton).

So if that's the case (order based on payment), my cc is burning a hole in my pocket. Will there be an option to purchase everything (i.e., deposit, unit, tank) with my cc at the time of the pm?

Thanks, Gerry

if people pay the deposit/full amount and somebody above them hasnt then I think everybody who has paid should be bumped over the guy who hasnt paid.

however, you should give people a couple days to respond/pay. this shouldnt turn into a race on who can refresh their page faster and pay the deposit first. thats what the actual GB order is for.

^^^ Agreed...

Other it doesn't seem right..should be order of signing up. Nice way to try and jump the line when you're close to the end of the list

There is no need to be concerned, we should be able to ship all the systems out within a week, as long as it is paid for and request to hold back.

I'm not trying jumping in front of anyone, this is just common business practice. And I agree that people should be given a reasonable amount of time to respond. What is reasonable?... whatever Richard thinks is reasonable! It's his business.

We ALL have a stake in making sure the group buy is a success. I suggested using payment/deposit as a way to inspire people to pay promptly. I for one, do not want my system being delayed while someone works on gathering funds. If everyone pays, and I'm dead last, fantastic.

We are going to contact everyone via email tomorrow who was interested in a tank in order to get them all built and ready. The core kit is coming from Aquamist, the pumps are coming here direct. When both are here and boxed, which should only take a few hours when both are on-site, we will contact everyone in order of the list for payment. When payment is received the kit will ship.

The complete H3 systems for the GB will be shipped to Jeff tomorrow - you will all get it at the same time unless Aquatec pump is delayed (also bound for Jeff). Please allow Jeff to organise his end in peace. I think it will take a few days for Fedex to deliver to CA. I think by the middle of next week, Jeff would have them all under control and begin shipping.

An update for everyone:

We have received the pumps and kits from England. We have all the kits and pumps organized and ready to start packaging. Please email me a good time to call and get credit card information for payment at jeff@howertonengineering.com. Once the payment is processed we will ship the kit.

If you only ordered is a basic kit, those should all be ready to ship Monday. Most of the tanks will be ready to ship Monday as well, some may slip to Tuesday. If you need your kit urgently, let us know and we'll try to get it out ASAP. If your kit is not urgent, please allow us to ship the urgent kits Monday and ship the rest after.

If you wish to exchange jetting or have any special requests, please notify me ASAP so we can try to accommodate you. Thank you all for participating in the group buy and thank for your patience in getting all the kits shipped.

Dear HFS-3 GB participants:

Please remove and dispose the bag with a Grey harness. The wire/pin order is reversed. Do not attempt to install or wire it. The rest of the system can be installed as instructed

A replacement grey harness is on the way to you, marked the a paper label "version2" Any question please contact me at richard@aquamist.co.uk

I apologise for the inconvenience and would appreciate with you can acknowledge the receipt of this important email

Just to confirm,
You are referring to this wire:

Below is a picture of the correct wire orientation (revered and corrected). The harness can still be used temporaily if you reverse the color order.

Already got the hfs-3 gauge mounted in the dash (kit not installed yet). Looks pretty clean. The guys at my stereo shop did it. I had them remove my stereo system since I like listening to the engine noises instead. Kept the amp though so I can use my iPod touch. The knob next to the gauge is the touch volume switch. Here's a couple of pictures:

Go to http://photobucket.com/, sign on. They host videos and images free

First upload your images to the site. The rest is a matter of following on site instructions, copy and paste the picture link in between the text of your post here.

If you are stuck, email them to me. I don't have a great deal of serve space to hold too many images.
