Can I just use a regular computer network Cat5 RJ45 cable to extend this for my gauge?

You cannot use the network cable. The gauge cable is inverted. You need to take the existing cable to a local computer shop and ask them to make you one.
Or you can buy a long network cable and a RJ45 plug, cut one end off and crimp your own inverted version. Warranty of the gauge will be void if the gauge blowns up due to wrong cable order.
Ideally buy a 8-way flat cable so mistake can be minimised.

Is there a way to test o see if I just need a new gauge or a new new hfs3?
The fuse in the control box looked good. And when I switched the jump from idc to map I could hear the pump pumping.....

If the gauge is not working with the standard cable, it is damaged in some section pf the circuit board.

Oh great. So a new gauge won't help me? I need a new control box?
Like I said. I can hear the pump going when I moved some of the jumpers around.

If you can send the controller and gauge back to me, I can repair it for you. It is more likely the damage is in the gauge's circuit board. It doesn't coast that much more to send the controller as well. If the damage is only minor, we don't charge. You just need to pay the return shipping. We can also make you a longer gauge cable for $15.
