BMW 335i HFS-3 power problems

Hello Everyone,

I bought a used kit and want to know if i got ripped off.

I have a hfs-3v2 and i started to hook up everything. I have hooked up everything except the ecu/user plug. I wanted to know if the unit should be on? for example the lights on the gauge.

I have power at the power plug.

12v red
Ground - black and white
12v head lamp switch- purple

Does that mean i need to have but a new box unit?

Can you take a picture of what you have and the serial number of the controller. For the 335i , you need the green harness but the earlier batch of the HFS3-v2 requires some mods from the factory to bring it up to date with the second batch of V2. The serial number will allow me to check this for you.

Thank you for your help. Now i see a light on the gauge the water level indicator. So now i see it powered up. I took it apart they last guy did the modification to the board already.

Quick questions.

Is this a fail safe for the aqua mist.

when i turn on my car i get an engine light for waste gate problem. I checked my connections and they look good i even soldered it. I have no meth in the bottle yet.

I put meth in it but still get half engine light for waste gate controller

Not sure what you meant by engine light stays on. Are you referring to the HFS3 controller or the car.

The circuit board is quite old, it may need to be return to be upgraded or just purchase a newer HFS4 controller. The HFS3v2 was not strictly configured for the 335i or Di engines. The fuse is not properly inserted into the holder.

Can you take a picture of the underside of the circuit board. I like to see how it is configured.

Look at this board this looks like it missing something if you look above the DFS missing micro chip

DAMN i guess i need a new board sooo pissed.

If there a difference between the 3 and 4 for my car? other then two extra wires for the 4?
