i have final made the jump and will be adding water meth to my setup.
1990 vw corrado with a 2l16vt motor
1000cc rc injectors
gt3582r
ms2 3.57 board
car made 490whp at 20psi
i want to be able to turn it up to 30+ depending if inj have enough
i will be doing 2 .9mm jets one directly after the turbo outlet and one directly after IC. i have air to water intercooler and only have about 24" of boost pipe. the outlet of IC is connected to the TB with silicon connector.
basic wiring is no issue the issue im having is making the correct modifications to the HFS-4 controller. if i need any.
1) is the map seneor input the ECU has a 4bar map 0v=3.5kpa-5v=416kpa
(http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/mapdaddy-bar-map-sensor-with-barometric-correction-p-117.html)
2) not sure where to get the map signal from sense the sensor is internal in ECU.
3)waste gate fail safe for electronic boost control. to go to gate pressure on meth turning off or begin interrupted. i have a gizmo ms-ibc uses mac valve. im reading using the brown and white wires on gray harness to just splice one of the wires going to the mac valve?

1. It appeared the sensor is has an 0-5V output (pin 4):

2. Cut the pulsed wire from the MS to the MAC.

but how will the controller react since my map sensor is 4 bar. should i still use the 3.5 bar map in the hfs4?

Yes, 3.5 bar should be used.
There is just a minor shift at the "THRES" setting. If you are not using boost as trigger, it does not make any difference.

i have gotten everything wired and was testing. and as soon as i turn the key on the HFS goes through boot cycle then just starts spraying full flow. its acting like the INJ duty cycle is at 100% even though i havnt even started the motor yet. i pulled 12v power from the same source the ECU gets power and wired to the inj neg- for bank 1 inj.

Can you wire the red and green of the grey harness directly to the fuel injector and let me know.

Moved power to same power as inj. Now in on position hfs comes on with priming pulse and then turns off. willard further test next week once manifold is back from welder and can start the motor.

Did you have the fuel injector in circuit when you did the tests? If you don't you will get weird results.

sorry for the delay have just got the car finished up and started again this past weekend and everything seems to be working. and got it to spray during test drive. with my 1000cc inj i have the the x1.5 gain soldered my duty cycle at 15psi is about 40% and aiming to have it start to spray at 12 psi and be full on by 17-20psi

started driving car again and trying to get the meth working right. im having a strange issue. every thing seems to be working as it should except my duty cycle signal seems like its not being read right i have signal and i get the blinking led on the board but when i test drive it with the IDC jumpered all i get is the S blinks then goes sold with rpm. i have thres all the way low and the i have the 1.5x gain linked. but im not getting trigger. also have it set to 100% injduty

Can you post a Hi-res picture of the top and bottom side of the Controller.
It seemed the red and green wire of the grey harness is reversed.

Thank you.
How does the megasquirt wired into the HFS4? Assuming you are using the grey harness?
ewillard
23-05-2016, 07:45 PM
yes i am using the gray ECU harness. at this point i only have the red going to +12v inj pwr and the green is pulling signal from bank 1 INJ. i working on trying to get map signal output put its proving more difficult then expected.

This should be straight forward. Are you using low impedance injectors?
Where does the red wire of the power connector taps into?
ewillard
23-05-2016, 10:36 PM
Yes low z inj. Rc1000
I'm getting power from the same circuit the inj get power
Miss read. Power red is coming from the same circuit all my interior gauges are run off of.

I can see the problem here. The Grey harness is not designed to receive "peak and hold" signals.
I suggest you do the following:
1. Disconnect the green wire of the grey harness.
2. Connect the red and green wire of the green harness across the fuel injector.

thank you will order green harness now will let you know how i make out

The green harness should come with the kit.

i bought this 2nd hand and did not get the green harness.
what other things should i be wiring in order to fully utilize the functions of the HFS4.
i have
map signal in the works it will be added once i get a mod for my ECU done
INJ duty input
fail safe by taping boost controller solenoid
are there more variables i could and should add to make it better.
i will be doing direct port most likely if i get the results i expect from adding meth.
i am also starting with a 50/50 mix and see how it likes it. as of now the car makes 490 @21 psi. i am hoping with the extra octian and cooling to get closer to 600whp and 30psi but that later after this is working on <17 psi

Got the green harness in and wired. I know am getting trigger. But I also am getting what seems like noise and random trigger. Just driving regular it will all of a sudden. Show flow for I few sec then go off
