Default Uno Turbo 1400cc

Hi guys. Iv just joined the forum, and im a newbie to methanol injection. I live in south africa and drive a uno turbo(mk2), which is a 1400cc turbocharged.

My mechanic has just installed a meth kit in the car for me,but its a self made kit. Never the less,it works, which is ok. I have a couple of questions reguarding my system though..

The injection sits in my intake pipe just before the throttlebody. Now,is it suppose to spray a mist of meth, or a fine jet of meth?

Secondly, its a very standard kit which kicks in at 1bar boost(via a adjustable hob switch), which i dont know how much PSI that is, but when do you guys suggest it kicks in? I must still get the car re mapped with the kit on.

I have 550cc injectors on, witha large intercooler, and a TD04L 13T Turbo running at 1bar, at which i made 115kw and 220nm(before the meth kit,and its flywheel reading). I want to push out as much boost as possible,
What size nozzle should i use on my 1400cc motor? You guys think il get near 2bar boost with this setup and meth? Its a alcahol pump by the way, so im running pure methanol. I want to run in the region of 150 - 200kw, so does the nozzle size depend on the power the car is currently making, or the power its planning on making with meth?

Replies will highly help me...thanx!

It will be easier to estimate the meth flow aganist the fuel flow.

I normally recommend the following:

- 100% water: 10-15% to fuel
- M50:W50 15-20% to fuel
- 100% methanol: 20-25% to fuel
(figures are based on knock free conditions)

Just total up your fuel injectors

I believe Richard is saying that you select a nozzle size where the added water/methanol by mass flow (#/hr) is 10%-15% of the fuel flow in #/hr. You are essentially feeding a fixed ratio of cooling/anti-knock fluid versus fuel

It is impossible to give you the answer you need without knowing the pressure and flow rate of you water/methanol pump and your fuel consumption rate. I would just start with the smallest nozzel you have and work up slowly until you experiance any sort of abnormal performance, then go back a nozzel size.

If you are not sure teh flwo of your system, spray the water into a measuring glass for one minute. Once you know the flow rate, you can then work out the water to fuel ratio of 10-15%.

It is very difficult to help you without this infomation.
