			Hi there

I have been running a System 1a for a few years with a 25% methanol/75% water mix for antifreeze purposes. I'm wondering about putting in a higher concentration of methanol but am unsure of the benefits and/or problems. IIRC, I read somewhere on this forum that above 50/50 shortens the life of the pump seals and again, IIRC, Richard Lamb once told me that anything over a 40meth/60water mix actually reduces the efficiency of the mix. All suggestions welcomed. TIA |

The lastest (2-3 years old) pump can tolerate up to 50% methanol with out any ill effect.

All pump with serial number starting from 99xxxxx on can run up to 50% methanol and up to 75% for short periods.
