Hi, long time not been here (is good perhaps :) ).
But now a question. My (very old) MF2 goes on error. With power up, the system pressurizes and the led goes off.
Few seconds later, the led comes on again!
So, what is the diagnostic checking? Only pressure? Or other things too?
Anybody knows this?

Kind regards,

Gert

It look as the system cannot sustain the set pressure, there is a small leak some where.

Thanks.

Disconnected the blue loom and switched on Ignition. For some reason the jet did not spray regularly, but after a few seconds she showed a nice continues spray.
So, I assume there was some air in the piping.
No idea why. Never had this before and remember, the kit is about 20 years in the car.

You could be right, air in the system will cause this.

Hi, anybody alive???

Anyway, my pump does not pressurize anymore.
Water is flowing to the pump, but if I power up, there is no water coming out off the pump.
I can hear her running.

How can I solve this?

manually inject some water into the pump with a syringe. I think the internal is dry.

I will try it this evening. But how can the pump get dry? There is an constant feed off water!

I urge you to try first.

Well, did not take much effort to succeed. :-)

Plugged power in and pump started to spit a little, what soon became normal flow.
Connected the waterlines and discovered that there is an leak at the manifold.
Pump is in the trunk and manifold under the hood in the front.

So, first I have to fix that.

But, I am still curious why the pump was dry?

Well, finally found some time to investigate the problem.

The on/off solenoid on the manifold is leaking badly.

I tried to find me some rubber gaskets that fit, but no correct size here.
Can you provide those, or a new solenoid?

I cannot find those parts on the ERL site.

what is the thickness of the o-ring

Gert_

About 1,29 mm

And the small one:

o-rings are sizes are measured on ID. Those valves are about 20 years old, I cannot be sure what sizes it should be.

I was afraid off that. I suppose these valves are not available anymore?

Are there other valves available? Or what options do I have?

Gert_

ID = 2,5 mm and 14 mm

Well, I was able to find me some seals that seem to fit. I could pressurize the system without any leaks. That is good.
Downside: first I could not get the system armed again. So I must be doing something wrong.
After some search I found out that the system was not getting grounded since I did ground the system via the manifold. And the manifold was not attached to the chassis during testing.
Hope to install everthing again soon and check if it works.

Some other thing. I am surprised that feedback from ERL is not so good as I used to have.
Good thing to know is that my ERL kit is in the car for about 20 years now and almost never problems and always functional. Very very good.
But now I mailed to the adresses located on the site, but I do not get any answers.
Sometimes Richard is answering on the forum. But main question: is ERL healthy? Or is it going down? What is going on?

Well, early this year another seal from my old MF2 system valve started leaking. Tried to find me an replacement seal, but first no luck.

But, not far from my place, here in Holland, about 20 kms, there is an company which makes all kind off seals.
I ordered multiple sizes o-rings and one fitted perfectly. So, now my old MF2 is going strong again.

I know that almost nobody is reading this forum, but eventhough I think it is wise to share this info in case somebody would like to keep his WI system alive.

The company is: Technirub.
The site is Dutch, but google translate is your friend :-)
